BETA v0.12 · UPDATED SEPTEMBER 21, 2026

Public school spending.
Without the scavenger hunt.

This early beta brings Indiana school-finance records into one searchable, source-backed view. It is built to make public information easier to understand—not to fill gaps with guesses.

416 district-year records

Twenty-six school corporations across Hamilton, Hendricks, Boone and Marion counties.

Sources stay attached

Each annual record identifies the expenditure and enrollment source used.

Missing means missing

Unresolved values remain blank. The beta never interpolates or silently substitutes data.

WHAT YOU CAN TEST

Three useful tasks

  1. Search for a district and review its annual spending trend.
  2. Compare two corporations using the same definition and years.
  3. Follow the source links and tell us where the explanation is unclear.

KNOWN LIMITATIONS

What is not finished

  • Some annual ADM records remain unresolved.
  • Most districts outside Hamilton County do not yet have tax models.
  • IPS is shown as reported spending per reported ADM and is excluded from rankings because its historical reporting boundary is not uniform.
  • The current beta covers four counties, not the entire state.
  • Tax figures are standardized estimates, not literal parcel bills.

How a number earns its place

  1. Identify the corporation.Corporation ID is the key; names are display labels.
  2. Verify both inputs.Cost per student requires total expenditures and positive official ADM.
  3. Attach provenance.Published records retain status and source links.
  4. Preserve uncertainty. If an input cannot be verified, the result remains unavailable.
